We are excited to share that we are opening an Asia Pacific regional hub and have appointed Andrew Mills as Managing Director to strategically lead our new presence in the region. Andrew, who is currently based in Sydney, has been involved in international education for more than 20 years and holds several board positions in the international education sector, including Chairman of Gradability. He is also the former Global CFO of Study Group.
We’re committed to delivering the right communications via the right channels to students at the right times for them. To this end, we interrogate data across the nearly 500,000 individual student journeys we manage from enquiry to enrolment to regularly assess the efficacy of various student engagement activities and monitor for emerging trends in student expectations. This ongoing analysis revealed changes in student demand which influenced our decision to add a hub in the Asia Pacific region. One such finding from our Behavioural Insights team was a 108% year-on-year increase in Live Chats from prospective international students, signalling growing demand for real-time support.
We have selected the Philippines for our first hub in the Asia Pacific region. In tandem with our UK operations, the Asia Pacific regional hub will enable us to deliver personal, follow-the-sun support across all channels at all times for the half-a-million and growing number of students we support from every region. The APAC hub will ensure our partners access the APAC markets with highly focused campaigns and, through the UQ team, provide a superb recruitment experience for all students in real-time.
As Managing Director of the Asia Pacific Region, Andrew will lead the strategic development of our APAC operations. Andrew has a strong record of driving and guiding growth, most notably during his tenure at Study Group, and more recently in his advisory and board roles.
Andrew brings exceptional strategic development and operational management experience from within the international education industry. We are thrilled to have him join our leadership team to make sure we continue to deliver the best results for our partners as we grow.
The UQ Philippines hub will begin supporting UniQuest partners and their students in April 2018.
